Gabon
Two more people were murdered during the post-election violence in Gabon on Saturday, after President Ali Bongo was proclaimed winner of the August 27 presidential elections.
A police officer was one of the two victims. He was the first member of the Gabonese security forces to be killed in the northern part of the main town. He was shot in the head by the assailants, local news portal news24.com reports.
The second victim was shot dead by security forces overnight in the economic capital Port-Gentil, according to the news agency.
The attackers who shot the policeman were arrested in the attempt to cross the border with Equatorial Guinea.
The international community has raised concerns about the post-election violence calling for calm in the country.
Meanwhile, the Gabonese capital has been without internet access since last Wednesday.
